NextGen

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of West Virginia is a CM/ECF NextGen Court. 

 

To E-File in this Court:

Your PACER Account will be your login (entry point for both PACER and CM/ECF).  Therefore, you must have access to an Individual PACER Account.

Follow steps 1 through 3 below.

Obtain your own individual PACER account, if you do not already have one.  Register for a new PACER account by clicking here: https://pacer.uscourts.gov/pscof/regWizard.jsf

If you already have your own PACER account created prior to August 11, 2014 (also known as Legacy account), you must upgrade your account before you can electronically file in a NextGen court., then go to Step 2.

If you have a NEXTGEN PACER account, go to step 3.

If you have your own individual PACER account and it was created prior to August 11, 2014 (also known as Legacy account), you must upgrade your account before you can electronically file in a NextGen court. 

  • Go to “Manage My Account” at https://pacer.uscourts.gov/pscof/manage/maint.jsf
  • Log in to PACER.
  • After logging into your PACER account, find the “Account Type” field. If it shows “Upgraded PACER Account,” proceed to Step 3. If it shows ‘Legacy PACER Account,” click the “Upgrade” link and complete the upgrade process.
  • Note: Once you upgrade your PACER account, you will no longer be able to share your account with other users (i.e., each individual user must have their own account). If you have questions about this, please contact the PACER service center or go to https://www.pacer.uscourts.gov/nextgen/.

You must link your upgraded PACER account to your WVNB NextGen CM/ECF account.  Users will NOT be able to file in NextGen until their CM/ECF account is linked to their upgraded individual PACER account.

Upgrading Your PACER Account:

  • Go to “Manage My Account” at https://pacer.uscourts.gov/pscof/manage/maint.jsf
  • Log in to PACER.
  • On the Manage My Account Screen, Select the Maintenance Tab
  • Select either Attorney Admissions/E-File Registration OR Non-Attorney E-File Registration if you are a credit
  • Selct Court Type - U.S. Bankruptcy Courts
  • Select Court -  West Virginia Northern Bankruptcy Court
  • Select Next
  • Select E-File Registration Only
  • Your Account Should Population.  They only thing you need to do is Select I acknowledge that I am submitting the e-file registration for the individual listed above AND scroll to the bottome and select Email Frequency and Email Format
  • Select Next
  • Select Next
  • Slect Both Attorney E-FIling Terms and Conditions, Click Submit
  • You will have to wait for the Court to accept your applicaiton before you can e-file
