The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA) was enacted on April 20, 2005.  Most new provisions become effective on October 17, 2005. The Census Bureau and IRS Data and the Administrative Expense Multipliers on the following page were updated on March 3, 2008. The U.S. Trustee Program will apply the updated information to cases filed on or after March 17, 2008.
For cases filed between February 1, 2008, and March 16, 2008, inclusive, the U.S. Trustee Program will apply the prior Census Bureau and IRS Data and Administrative Expenses Multipliers.
